Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino for today ‘s trip to Newcastle United, as Jurgen Klopp seeks to clear up his injury. The Reds striker, who has scored 11 goals in 31 appearances this season, has lost his last three games due to an ankle injury.

Klopp confirmed on Friday that the Brazilian will be forced to miss the visit to St. James Park.

Klopp said: “Bobby is not a serious injury. It takes a little more than we all thought – and Bobby thought. “He will not be ready. “Bobby has not trained yet and we need to get more information to bring him back.” Meanwhile, Costas Tsimikas and Curtis Jones lost their 2-0 win over Villarreal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday due to illness. Greek left-back Tsimikas returned to training, although Jones was not present at the Reds’ Kerkby base on Thursday.
