The Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Department was called at 2.04 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, on Mill Street after a collision involving a black BMW X5 and a blue Ford Fiesta at the intersection with Hope Farm. The driver of the Fiesta was slightly injured before the car was engulfed in flames on the side of the road. A Wimborne crew watched the fire, which was extinguished using two spools of pipe and two people wearing respirators. The call to stop came at 14.31. The road was closed while the emergency services cleaned the area. Dorset police officers, who were also at the scene, organized the collection of the vehicle.
