Christian Watson (WR – GB) Christian Watson pic.twitter.com/5Gxu5BJhIg – Derek Brown (@DBro_FFB) February 1, 2022 Christian Watson did not enter the first round secretly, but remained at the top of the 40 selections (34th overall). The Packers traded to trap their future number one wide receiver. Watson is being touted as a “raw prospect”, but the numbers he has amassed in North Dakota have been impressive on several levels. Gathering him against all FBS and FCS receivers with 50 or more goals in each season, he ranked in the top 28 in yards per route each season, with cherry being his last season to lead the country in that count ( per PFF). He also finished 12th, 7th and 17th in the last three years in yards after catching per slot (per PFF). This last nugget is extremely important for an Aaron Rogers goal, as he likes to enrich the pitch with small area goals, so the ability of a large receiver to create with the ball in his hands is paramount. While many are tired of Watson’s Hype Train, I’m not tired of it. It is full of steam in front of the glory. Breece Hall (RB – NYJ) The Jets continue to reshape their roster by choosing Breece Hall at the top of the second round. Only Hall’s capital plan will give him the good fortune to acquire this backfield. As an honest Michael Carter, I’m sorry about that, but about it later. The Jets have done everything they can to add blockbusters to their design that now have a hand-gloved back. Hall only finished in the top 30 in his position (at least 100 rush attempts) in yards after one contact per attempt, but his ability to leave improved with each passing season. He completed his college career in the 22nd and 5th place in secondment percentage during his last two seasons (per PFF). Its characteristic is the ability to push the line and explode upwards through a fold. Hall is a locked top 20 running this season. Sky Moore (WR – KC) Skyy Moore is one of my FAVORITE prospects this year. “16th place in yards after the arrest in 2021 (512, per PFF) and equaled the first place in the lost tackles necessarily (26) among the wide receivers. “Moore will become a YAC factory in the NFL.” pic.twitter.com/Cowzs4jzyG – Derek Brown (@DBro_FFB) April 20, 2022 Glory to the gods of fantasy football. Skyy Moore lands in the sacred chalice of fantasy production. Many will automatically point to JuJu Smith-Schuster as a deterrent or Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but these are just potholes on the road to greatness. For Smith-Schuster, you have to go back to 2018 to find a season where he finished over 1.70 yards per route, and for those who score at home, that’s sad. Valdes-Scantling is the new cardio king who takes the cloak from Demarcus Robinson. Valdes-Scantling will probably absorb weekly runs, but gaining goals and securing them is a foreign skill to him. Moore runs after the monster that is just now starting to scratch the surface of his talent. He had never played acoustic until his first year in Western Michigan. That did not stop him from finishing with a sovereign 91st grade in college and leading the country to the lost tackles that were forced on him in place of the wide receiver last year. Skyy is the limit. John Metz (WR – HOU) John Metchie is a player I thought would make it to the third round of the NFL Draft, but he surprised me with a nice landing spot as the 44th off-board player. Alabama Metchie production profile is unbearable. It was below the 35th percentile in breakout age, dominant college and university yards per reception. His 2.22 yards for college per route shout meh (per PFF). What Metchie lacks in his detailed profile, he makes up for at the first opportunity. He should have no problems competing with Nico Collins for goals behind Brandin Cooks early on. Kyler Murray (QB – ARI) Kyler Murray now has a wealth of weapons at his disposal in Arizona. The Cardinals started the draft with the acquisition of Marquise Brown and followed the draft with Trey McBride. McBride will also contribute to the passing game as a blocker keeping Murray clean in his pocket. In 2021 the success rate of cardinals went up from 47% (11 people) to 50% and 57% when they used four sets of wide and two of tight end. The additions of these two players will allow Kliff Kingsbury to make more of these appearances and put Murray in a better position to succeed. George Pickens (WR – PIT) Diondae Johnson is unlimited free next season. The team has shown some frustration with Chase Claypool’s growing pains, so now they are choosing a player in George Pickens who could lead the transition attack if he moves away from Johnson. Pickens production history may not be awful, but it is an experienced weapon that can easily split and create easy completions and great games with the passing of the hat. Alec Pierce (WR – IND) George Pickens is not the stretcher you are looking for; this is Alec Pierce. Alec Pierce is not the small WR area you are looking for; this is George Pickens. Can they both add these skills to their repertoire? Yes. Very likely. But atm excels at opposite ends. – Derek Brown (@DBro_FFB) April 21, 2022 The Pularades have previously dealt with supply body receivers (Michael Pitman) and speed threats (Paris Campbell), but now they have entered new territory with a player in Alec Pierce combining both. Pierce is at 6’3., But runs 4.41 40 yards and has a 94th percentage point. With 17.0 university yards per home score (79th percentile) and 82nd percentile of age, the boxes are checked to make Pierce more of his current stretcher. This passing attack is wide open with only Pittman above him in a series of pecking for goals. Pierce could break out immediately this season with an experienced veterinarian like Matt Ryan feeding him accurate targets. James Cook (RB – BUF) Bill telegraphed the addition of a running skills game for all off-season. They tried to lure JD McKissic away from Washington. Duke Johnson was then entered into a free agent agreement. James Cook, who receives the second round capital, is a huge sign that they see him as more than a limited selection of games. While Cook could only start in third place, we saw last year that they had no problem using Devin Singletary in a do it all role. The Cook could win this opportunity. Gabriel Davis (WR – BUF) The first three rounds of the NFL draft are over and Gabriel Davis remains Stephen Diggs’ perimeter partner. After finishing as the top 30 radio receiver in four of the last six regular season games and playoff fireworks, the off-season advertising campaign has been created. The budding birds quickly tried to quell the storm around Davis. At this point in the draft, there is no player that the Bills will bring that is a huge threat to his role. Turn the hype radio again until 11 o’clock.

Losers

Any Quarterback is not called Kenny Pickett Following the selection of Kenny Pickett in the first round, the NFL Talent Assessors took over as General. The second round came and went, and zero generals were selected. Then Desmond Ridder, Malik Willis and Matt Corral finally found new homes in the third round. It’s not impossible for the last three to make it to the NFL, but the deck is too much for them to win early or any chance of getting started. They went from the first round of the draft of Superflex rookies to shots at best. Michael Carter (RB – NYJ) My heart’s Michael Carter πλη πλη – Derek Brown (@DBro_FFB) April 30, 2022 Choosing Breece Hall is a nightmare for Michael Carter like me. Carter, at best, will be placed in the weakest part of a committee at best. The dream of getting the lion’s portion in this backfield after appearing in a limited specimen last year is dead. He is lost in the flames of the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Justin Fields (QB – CHI) While the Bears roster improved overall with the additions of Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker, Justin Fields was hung up to dry. His top targets remain Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet and the offensive line has not been upgraded. Mooney proved to be a tremendous talent last year, but he can not pick up this attack on his own. Fields will have to build up plenty of attack and fantasy points on his feet if this year is to be considered successful. Jelanie Woods (TE – IND) Jelanie Woods The more I popped into his movie the more I really liked his game. The Top 30 Run / Pass Blocker among TEs in separate collective szns. Did it initially look like a sports freak? No. Can it reach another level? YES. I think it can. Icpic.twitter.com/YygCw9mGoU – Derek Brown (@DBro_FFB) April 21, 2022 The Poularades showed the tight position in the last seasons in the passing game and the red belt, but the problem is that it was with a committee approach. Last season, Frank Reich split up between Jack Doyle, Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson. Alie-Cox and Granson will work with Jelani Woods this season to bring her back with a possible tripartite committee. Woods numbers will be limited not because of talent but because of limited playing time. Antonio Gibson (RB – WAS) The blows continue to come for Antonio Gibson. First, JD McKissic returned to …
