In a tweet, NWS said it had confirmed that there had been a brief tornado based on information from local government officials, meteorological observers and radar data. The tornado was rated EF-0, the lowest level on the six-level Enhanced Fujita scale. Traveling about 1.9 miles with a maximum width of 60 yards, he broke tree branches, uprooted trees and tore the roof off a golf course bathroom. The tornado first fell near the Hilton Hotel and Willow Crest Golf Club before reaching Oak Brook Central Park about three minutes later, according to the NWS. Bad weather also hit the Rockford area where a second short tornado struck, traveling about half a mile in one minute. It was also classified EF-0, bringing winds of 80 miles per hour and causing many trees to be uprooted.
