Conway Police confirm that there is an active fire at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort, located on the White Mountain Highway. At the moment the police have no information about injuries. Route 16 is closed in the area and people are being asked to stay away to allow emergency crews to access the spot. The resort confirmed in a statement to NBC10 Boston and NECN that a fire broke out in the property on Saturday afternoon, noting that the North Conway fire department and local partners are working to extinguish the flame. “Visitor safety remains our top focus as we continue to work closely with emergency responders,” a resort spokesman told NBC10 Boston and NECN. The video posted on Twitter shows flames falling through the roof and the rooms on the second and third floors. Dense black smoke can also be seen rising in the sky from miles away. There seems to be a lot of damage to at least part of the hotel. In the background, emergency sirens are heard and people are seen standing on a grassy hill watching the fire burn. A woman living two doors below the inn told NBC10 Boston and NECN that she saw people outside crying with their children. “It’s just disastrous. I mean, so sad,” said Linda Barbic, a bed and breakfast owner in the area. “It’s just roaring in the flames. It’s just awful. The east end of the Red Jacket building looks like firefighters from all over the city are coming in and trying to hold it back so the main building doesn’t hit, but it’s sad.” does not seem to be possible. “ “I mean, it has caught fire. Many crews from the surrounding cities of New Hampshire have been called in to deal with the huge fire. The resort is a family-run refuge in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and is home to Kahuna Laguna, an indoor water park that has been included in the top 10 indoor water parks in the United States.
