Nathan McGovern, 22, Amber Alexander, 18, Louis Hawkins, 22, and Rosa Sharkey, 22, are charged with causing more than λι 5,000 in damages, according to Surrey police. Four other people remain in custody, the force added. Officers were called to the Cobham and Clacket Lane service areas shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday after reports that Just Stop Oil protesters were at the scene and had stuck to the pumps and blocked access to the courtyards. Surrey police said in a statement on Friday that a total of 55 pumps had been damaged during the protests. McGovern, Alexander, Hawkins and Sharkey appeared in Crawley’s court on Friday afternoon, the force said. They were released on bail on terms imposed by the court. All four pledged not to enter Surrey County other than to attend court, enter any service stations in England and Wales, or block any entry or exit. The bail conditions also included staying and sleeping at their home addresses, not sticking to any part of a gas station or tanker, and not associating with other defendants other than pre-arranged appointments with a lawyer or in court. McGovern is also required to wear an electronic tag.
