The news is moving fast today, as the process seems to be a bit delayed in the last two weeks, with the other bidding teams led by Sir Martin Broughton and Stephen Pagliuca abandoning and a delayed advertising stunt by Sir Jim Ratcliffe proving to be of little consequence. The deal is said to be worth “over ,5 3.5 billion”, which reportedly includes at least 1 1 billion earmarked for the stadium and club and the rest (up to 2 2.5 billion) for charity. It is not clear how much of this will be a lump sum or exactly how the deal will be structured, although all of this is academic at this point. Much will depend on how the sanctions against Roman Abramovich are carried out and what the UK government will or will not allow. The necessary approvals from the UK government and the Premier League are not expected to last long or create major obstacles, so hopefully we will be able to sort it all out (at least in terms of our capacity) over the next two weeks. Welcome, Todd & Co. Let’s keep winning all things!
