Peel police responded to shootings in the Kennedy Road North and Sandalwood Parkway area just before 1:30 p.m.
A man was rushed to a local trauma center in a life-threatening condition, rescuers said.
The suspect fled the area and no further details or description of the suspect have been released.
Police believe the victim was the target.
