Friday’s fight saw Roach, a 23-year-old Toronto teacher, face Julian Glander, an animator from Pittsburgh Retirement, and Terri Huggins, a deputy director of imports from New York. Roach was behind Glander at the end of the first round, but nailed the first four questions in Double Jeopardy and took back the lead. Proceeding to the Final Jeopardy, Roach had won $ 17,000, putting her ahead of Glander at $ 11,000 and Huggins at $ 800. Roach was the only contestant to answer the last question correctly. He left with a profit of US $ 22,001 in cash. That boosted her total winnings to $ 460,184 during her 19-game winning streak.

Friday’s victory means Roots has now responded to the previous 19-game winning streak of David Madden and Jason Zoufranieri, bringing the players to a triple tie for their sixth consecutive win at Jeopardy! history.
