Officers were called to the Lakeside Shopping Center in Thurrock at 4:30 p.m. of Thursday. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead. Essex police said the man was believed to have been attacked by two men, described as black or Asian. One of the suspects is described as wearing blue ripped jeans, a white T-shirt, black sneakers and a black jacket and holding a small bag. The other wore a blue tracksuit and white tracksuits. The chief investigating officer, Chief Detective Scott Egerton, said: “At the time of the attack, this area of the mall would be busy, so I think someone would have seen what happened. “I need to contact my team of dedicated, specialized officers and staff. “I know this attack will be a cause for concern, but at this stage we believe it is a targeted attack and there is no danger to the general public.” Witnesses or anyone with information can contact the force at 101 reporting incident 750 on April 28 or the Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111 or at essex.police.uk via email.
