Conservative MP For Tiverton and Honiton said he first visited the site by mistake after looking at a tractor on the internet, but then deliberately returned to it a second time in a “moment of madness”. The 65-year-old elected chairman of the committee was suspended by the Conservative Party on Friday after two colleagues said they saw him looking at the explicit content on his mobile phone in the House of Commons and at a select committee hearing. In an interview with the BBC South West, he said: “The situation was that, quite funny, it was a tractor I was looking at, so I went to another site with a similar name and watched it for a while. which I should not have done. “My crime – my biggest crime – is that in another case I came in a second time, and that was intentional. “He was sitting and waiting to vote from the side of the room.” He added: “What I did was completely wrong. I was wrong, I was stupid, I lost my mind.”
