The Ministry of Health reports that 19 of the new deaths occurred in the last 30 days and another occurred before that.
132 deaths have been reported in the last seven days and 405 in the last 30 days.
The total confirmed number of Ontario deaths due to COVID-19 is now 12,812.
Two of the deaths reported on Friday involved long-term care residents.
There were 1,679 patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 on Friday, up 18 from Thursday but down by about 50 earlier in the week.
Of these, 209 patients were in the intensive care unit, seven more than yesterday.
Ninety-four patients were ventilated.
Hospital admissions rose 5.5 percent from this period last week and 17.6 percent from that point two weeks ago.
The Ontario Scientific Advisory Board (COVID-19), citing wastewater data, reports that the virus is spreading to all parts of Ontario except southwestern and eastern Ontario, including Ottawa.
Of the 2,760 cases detected by PCR testing in Ontario over the past 24 hours, 268 were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, 544 were two-dose vaccine, 1,775 were three-dose vaccine, and 173 were unvaccinated. .
Provincial laboratories processed 19,235 test samples in the previous period, generating a positive rate of 13.2 percent.
Positiveness among teams eligible for free tests has dropped recently, from an average of 18.1 percent last week to 15 percent this week.
The Ministry of Health reports that 33,077 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered on Thursday.
Of these, 1,390 were first doses, 1,604 were second doses, 4,246 were third doses and 25,837 were fourth doses.
