As part of a pilot project, Science North has officially opened a new local space in hopes of having a more permanent presence in Sault Ste. Mary. The site is intended to be a staff resource for Science North staff at the moment and opened with a ribbon cut on Friday. Following is a full version from Science North: Science North today announced plans to expand its presence in Sault Ste. Marie through a planning and promotion hub, as part of her two-year pilot project. For nearly 40 years, Science North has been sharing its unique experiences in Northern Ontario through long-term partnerships in various communities, including Sault Ste. Mary. Science North has hosted annual science festivals, permanent and travel exhibitions, training and promotion programs, and summer science campgrounds in Sault Ste. Mary. Extending this success, Science North intends to explore by having a more permanent presence on Sault Ste. Marie area. The science center plans to expand its reach in the Algoma area through a two-year pilot project that will create a planning and approach hub that will: staff three to five Science North Bluecoats. developing the commitment of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through enhanced curricula. creating events and promotional initiatives; and supporting partners in achieving or exceeding visitor, revenue and loyalty goals. In addition, Science North will continue to work with indigenous communities and organizations in the area to increase STEM training opportunities, experiences, and entertainment. This long-term presence at Sault Ste. Located at 2A-875 Queen Street East, Marie will have a significant economic impact and will be a key driver of development for northeastern Ontario. With the expansion, Science North will support education and labor market development through STEM skills development, develop partnerships and partnerships, develop new audiences and events, deepen partnerships and engagement with indigenous communities and audiences, as well as pilot the feasibility of a permanent location in Sault Ste.
