– Advertising – Adding new steering and suspension tuning and new Hairpin + functionality to all 2023 GR Supra 3.0 models, as well as a better sound system from JBL Audio to the mix, the Toyota coupe seems to be evolving along with the GR 86’s smaller sibling, which received major review for 2022.
Manual gearbox created especially for the Supra V6 engine

Photo: Supra The Gazoo Racing Supra finally got a 6-speed manual transmission for 3.0, 3.0 Premium and a limited edition A91-MT Edition to give drivers more control over their driving. The automaker has developed this powertrain precisely to match the power and torque characteristics of the 3.0-liter V6 engine. In addition to the engine, engineers also redesigned the Supra’s brake control and suspension systems for improved performance. Speaking of the new manual transmission, the engineers modified the current gearbox case, drive shaft and gearbox and removed unnecessary components, such as the audio package, to lose weight. The team developed a new diameter clutch with a reinforced diaphragm spring. Thanks to the larger friction space and the reinforced spring, this new component offers better performance to match the GR Supra’s high-torque power plant.
iMT with new software
The newly created Smart Manual Transmission (iMT) uses a new software that prioritizes performance. The software boosts engine torque by depressing and releasing the clutch pedal during gear changes. Gear downs, on the other hand, offer consistent performance. While iMT is a default option for the new 2023 GR Supra, you can turn it off in Sport mode. 2023 GR Supra 3.0. Toyota was also meticulous in installing the manual gearbox in the cockpit. The lever ratio is mainly adjusted to reduce the effort required to change gears. In addition, engineers paid close attention to the weight and shape of the 200 g gear selector as well as ergonomics. They also changed the position of the console unit and the drive mode selector to provide 1.7 inches of space between the buttons and the shift selector.
Reduced Weight
The new Toyota GR Supra (for Europe) has lost almost 40 kg (88 lbs) of weight, thanks to the lightweight 19-inch wheels and the removal of the leather upholstery of the seats, the power adjustment, the lumbar support and the audio package.
New for 2023: GR Supra Limited Edition A91-MT

Other Tweaks
In addition to the new manual transmission and the special edition A91-MT, there is more to the new GR Supra. The engineers further modified the suspension and steering wheel in addition to setting the Track function for effortless drifting with freedom of throttle control. – Advertising – Interestingly, Toyota has introduced the Hairpin + feature to upgrade the driving credentials of the new GR Supras. Improves engine torque control to provide a higher difference in the degree of spin of the wheel.
