A snapshot of the game was posted by Ubisoft on Twitter this afternoon, hours after the leaked footage began circulating. More about all this below. ORIGINAL HISTORY 2.30 p.m. UK: Footage from Ubisoft’s unreleased pirate game Skull & Bones has been leaked. Taken from the alpha test, a four-minute instructional video was uploaded to reddit showing a detailed look at the game. The game has been in progress for a long time and has suffered high profile delays, so this leaked shot offers a new opportunity to see what all the fuss is about after its last appearance at E3 2018. “You will start your journey as an underdog whose goal is to become the most infamous pirate to sail in these waters,” the video explains. This means increasing your notoriety – essentially the experience – by completing contracts, exploring, looting and completing treasure hunts. The higher your reputation, the more opportunities you have. Before boarding, you should supply your ship with rations and cargo at nearby ports, as well as adjust your character. As your reputation grows, you will be able to build bigger and stronger ships with a unique way of playing. Ship battles seem to be a key part of the game, with the ability to board enemy ships that offer greater rewards. However, the morale of the crew is depleted over time, especially due to the defeat, and they will revolt if morale is not restored (with food and drink, of course). There is also a Souls-like element to the persistent online multiplayer, pirate players that can turn you around, and the ability to collect lost cargo at the point of defeat (unless other players steal it). There is also craft, which is very Far Cry as you skin animals and collect raw materials. There is no release date for Skull & Bones yet and it is not clear exactly why the game has been delayed so long. However, the waves look nice. See the plans for yourself on reddit.
