Ontario Public Health, which now oversees the team, says Dr. Fahad Razak will replace Dr. Peter Juni in his role on the Ontario COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Board.
Razak is a physician at St. John’s Hospital. Michael’s in Toronto and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, specializing in research in global health and health services.
He has been a member of the science board since its inception and Ontario Public Health says he has contributed to newsletters on long-term COVIDs, vaccines, hospital visitor policies and treatments.
Razak said in a Twitter post that he hoped “science will continue to help us determine the best way forward” in the next phase of the pandemic.

The public health service announced last month that it would begin overseeing the team of experts and says it is developing new terms of reference so that the scientific table can respond to future public health emergencies if needed.
