Patience, is it May Sunday? We’re a little confused about this here at Nintendo Life Towers – how are we already in the fifth month of 2022? Blimey. Anyway, after the chaos of last week’s release date, this week was definitely more stable. Reggie Fils-Aimé’s SXSW talk is now available and reveals how the death of the legendary Satoru Iwata influenced his decision to leave Nintendo. We have some tips from Nintendo on how to troubleshoot Switch batteries. And Yuji Naka claims that he was removed as the director of Balan Wonderworld from Square Enix in a rather revealing thread on Twitter. Also, for you wonderful Europeans out there, we have highlighted our options from the Spring to Action discounts on the Switch. There are thousands of offers, so go check them out, but do not blame us if you spend all your pennies! Now it’s time to relax and discuss the weekend’s game plans. Some members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to read our entries and then subscribe to yours through our comments section. Enjoy!

This weekend I will do my best to resist the charm of Hades as I enter the 3DS eShop and start downloading some key elements that will disappear next year. There is still plenty of time until the store closes, but I do not want to leave it until the last minute, download dozens of games in a crazy hurry and then never really play things! I have my eye on Game Freak’s HarmoKnight this weekend. If it’s even half a game from Pocket Card Jockey, it is sure to be one of the 10 best 3DS games I have ever had. Have a good time everyone!

On Switch, I recently downloaded Thimbleweed Park again, as it’s far behind my shame and I enjoy playing old school adventure. However, I only insist on the touch screen controls, using the handy stylus they provided along with copies of Brain Training here in the UK. So far I enjoy it and I enjoy the rather slow pace. Other than that, I’m still working on Shadow of the Tomb Raider and I have several movies / chapters in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, so I’ll end up with games that fit every mood. Hi Guys! This weekend, I’ll be playing some of the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. I got it at the eShop discounts this week and, honestly, I’m ashamed that I was so late to get it. There are some games out there that I probably could not do, but having all the games like Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha 3 all in one place is a miracle. I’m not very good at it yet though… On PS5, I got Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition at a recent discount, and it’s absolutely awesome. I played through OG when it was released on PS4 and this new version takes things to the next level. It’s probably my favorite entry in the series and I’m really looking forward to seeing where Capcom will go with the next game!

Hello! So, I’m stuck with a bit of video games. None of what I pick up sticks, and I have a little time until what I want comes out. I’ll wait a bit for some discount shopping via eShop, too. So back to the old comforts of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, which I really only played for a few hours last week. So I did not make any significant progress because there are too many side effects. Let’s do better this weekend. A little flash of inspiration I had, though, is to repeat Klonoa: Empire of Dreams. I have never won a GBA game in our time, so this is my chance to change it and it is a good preparation for the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series. Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil is one of my favorite platformers of all time, so being able to play a sleek version is amazing. I hope you all have a good weekend, guys! I’m still on an epic journey to find Ciri in The Witcher 3. I now have over 70 hours in this game and I feel like it will never end. It has such a huge world, full of side-by-side quests that will keep me busy for many coming weekends (lucky!). But I just got my OLED Switch, which motivated me to start a proper playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. Dude, I’m struggling to keep my hands off it. It has such a good and original story and it is very easy to get lost inside. I definitely look forward to spending many hours on this game as well. Also, the Nintendo Switch Sports has just been released and my little brother is coming, so we will definitely fight in all sports today and tomorrow! It is safe to say that I have a busy weekend ahead of me in terms of games.

The A500 Mini is still possible. Things are evolving in Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe with my team clearly dominating the entire second division, possibly with a rise this weekend. I made the mistake of shooting Lost Patrol and now I remember how this game taught me the war is not “so much fun” in the early ’90s. But you’re not into Amiga Life, so from Nintendo, I’m very happy to finally play the exciting 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, the “already purchased before the review” Ganryu 2 and of course the Nintendo Switch Sports. Shout in Push Square for the four random receipts of the PS Vita game! The game of the week is the Layer Section & Galactic Attack S-Tribute, which is just a great excuse not to just write RayForce. Taito and I are going back from Space Invaders. And who knows… maybe RayStorm will appear on Switch one of these days. As always, thanks for reading!
